In 2025, there will be recreational deer hunting in Harriman State Park. The seasons includes weekdays only from November 3 to December 16 (with a day off for Thanksgiving, November 27), plus December 26 and 29-31.  There will be no hunting on weekends. Click here for more information.

As of late October 2025, the trails within the southern section of Norvin Green State Forest in Passaic County, NJ have been reblazed and reconfigured by volunteers and staff of the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference. Several trail blazes have changed color to improve clarity and consistency, and multiple loops have been created to make the trail system easier to navigate.
